Prime Ministers of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan do not manage to approve Customs Code

The heads of the Russian, Belarusian and Kazakhstan governments have not managed to settle their disputes about the contents of the Customs Code that has to come into power on July 1. This is the result of the negotiations that took many hours in Saint Petersburg on May 21. "We agreed to continue the process of ratification of the Customs Code on an expert level”, - informs RIA “Novosti” quoting the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

The difficulties concern the car and aviation industries, customs duties and the import of goods by physical entities for personal use. The last paragraph is a matter of principle for Kazakhstan and the car and aviation industry - for Russia. Belarus still demands to cancel import duties for oil and oil products.
Syarhei Sidorski and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov have confirmed the necessity of an additional discussion of provisions of the Customs Code, reports BelaPAN.
