Prohorov to buy Kerimov’s Uralkali shares
The agency Bloomberg has reported it.
Tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov was going to buy the shares together with Dmitri Mazepin – owner of Uralchem. Being a native Belarusian, Mazepin could help settle the conflict between Uralkali and Belarus, exerts hoped.
Billionaire Suleiman Kerimov decided to sell his 21.75% of Uralkali shares after the Belarusian Investigation Committee announced him wanted, RIA Novosti reports.
KGB detained Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner at the end of August. He was accused of power abuse but then the charges were changed to a theft. The Russian manager is under house arrest in Minsk now.
Kerimov was accused of power and authority abuse at the beginning of September. Belarus sent a request to arrest him to Interpol.
