Putin talks to Armenian President by phone
It is the first time the Russian leader’s activity has been mentioned by non-Kremlin press services this week.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has not appeared in public since March 5. He talked to his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan by phone yesterday. According to the Russian President’s website, they discussed Russia-Armenia partnership in the energy and oil and gas spheres. The Russian and Armenian leaders also talked about the integration within the Eurasian Economic Union and discussed the two states’ participation in the celebration of the 70th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War.
The information about the phone conversation has also appeared on the Armenian President’s website.
Vladimir Putin has not appeared in public for more than a week which has resulted in numerous rumours. Bloggers and some mass media think that the Russian President is ill.
The Kremlin press service published a report about Putin’s meetings with Russian governors on March 10 and 11. However, attentive journalists noticed that the photos had been made earlier.
