Ales Byalyatski officially nominated for Nobel Prize
Andrzej Galitsky, head of the foreign affairs commission of the Polish Sejm, has informed about it.
According to him, the Nobel Committee has accepted Ales Byalyatski’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, reports “Polish Radio External Service”.
The appeal for Ales Byalyatski’s nomination appeared at the end of January and Polish MPs signed it. The idea was supported by MEPs.
Let us remind you that the human rights activist was sentenced to 4.5 years in a top security prison. He was accused of major tax evasion. The money Byalyatski received on his foreign accounts was meant for human rights activities.
