Azaranka remains world's first racket
This is reflected in the updated WTA rating, published on Monday.
Victoria Azaranka has 8820
points, which is 100 points more than Russia's Maria Sharapova. Pole Agnieszka
Radwanska is still ranked third, while American Serena Williams is on the
fourth place.
Let us note that the results of these tennis players' performances at the
Olympic Games-2012 in London did not influence their positions in the world
rating. Azaranka became an Olympic champion in the mixed category and took the
bronze in the singles, Sharapova was second in the singles, while Williams won
in both singles and doubles at the Olympics.
In the champions' race, Maria Sharapova moved ahead, having
surpassed Victoria Azaranka by 5 points.
