Brest branch of Free Trade Union not allowed to hold a picket
Brest city executive committee demand payment for non-rendered services.
Head of the Brest branch of the Free Trade Union Valyantsin Lazarenkau has informed the following to Euroradio:
"The picket, planned on October 7 - the World Day of defending the right for decent work, has been prohibited by the city executive committee. The reason: we have not made agreements with the communal services, police and doctors, as prescribed by the executive committee's decisions".
There are no people in the allowed places for pickets in Brest, there's no need to protect public order among the trees or at the empty stadium, and there's also no trash, says Mr. Lazarenkau. The Trade Union agrees to pay for the rendered services, but the city executive committee insists on pre-payment.
