Brest civil activist's trial resumed
The prosecutor has changed Vital Koush's charges.
The names of the Indians detained at the Belarusian-Polish border last May were misspelled in the previous charges, human rights defender Raman Kislyak said.
27-yera-old Vital Koush, father of two small children, is accused of "promoting illegal migration". He is accused of helping Indians in their attempt to cross the border with the help of a rope.
Koush was detained in September 2012. His relatives knew nothing about his whereabouts for 2 days. Then he was found in a detention centre. A video of two Indians saying that they had been made to slander people they did not know in Brest appeared on the Internet in October. The Indians also showed their passports.
The trial started before the New Year. Brest District Court refused to consider the video and interrogate the witnesses. Hearings were postponed twice in January and February.
