Gay-pride in Minsk prohibited
Minsk city executive committee prohibited the gay-pride rally in Academician Krasin Street in Sosny micro-district.
The applicants received the official refusal from the city authorities by mail. The letter is signed by the chief ideologist of the city Ihar Karpenka. The formal reason for refusal is that the route of the rally came at a distance less than 50 meters from the building of the institution which maintained living activity of the population, informs the portal GayBelarus.
Moreover, the executive committee decided that the gay-pride would interfere with the traffic movement in this street. However, the state leader said recently that he did not object if a rally of sexual minorities would happen somewhere in the outskirts of Minsk.
