HR defender detained for action of solidarity with Byalyatski in Brest
Raman Kislyak told the city dwellers about the arrest of the head of the human rights center "Viasna" through a megaphone.
The action took place at 17.50 on the pedestrian part of the Cosmonauts' Boulevard. The human rights defender was detained by the police ten minutes after the action had started.
Kislyak filed an application for conducting a rally of solidarity with Ales Byalyatski. However, the city executive committee informed him in the written form that the rally was "denied". He claimed that he was dissatisfied with such response as it did not say exactly whether the rally was "allowed" or "prohibited". Therefore, Raman considered the rally neither allowed nor prohibited, Radio Liberty informs.
