Iryna Khalip: I will write a book about the events of the last months

Iryna Khalip: "I am very proud of my husband; I think he is a national hero. After his statement that he was blackmailed with mine and Danik's lives I realized I had been a hostage. They told him we had been in their hands - in c a closed apartment, with no communication, unable to say anything to anyone. We have been hostages during all this time, and we still are".

The famous journalist has explained what 2 years of imprisonment with arrest of judgment for 2 years mean. 

Iryna Khalip: "This means there will be another trial in two years, with a public prosecutor etc. The court will decide whether I am "on the way to improvement. Whether I am a law-obedient citizen. However, will they ever consider an independent journalist a law-obedient citizen in our country?!"

Iryna Khalip also shared her plans for the nearest future.

Iryna Khalip: "First of all, I will write to my husband. We were deprived of an opportunity to write to each other for 5 months, it seemed they had separated us forever. They appointed pronouncement of my sentence for today to prevent me from going to my husband's sentence and see him. Then, I will change the locks in my apartment as the keys from it were passed from one hands to other. Then, I will call different services - cleaning, disinfection, and others, as those guys in red-green trousers were wandering about my apartment for the last three months! Then - I will appeal the sentence!"

Iryna Khalip says that Andrej Sannikau's electoral campaign goes on. She is convinced that he will not serve his 5-years sentence to the end.
