More detentions for boycott calls
Some detainees are free.
Belarusian Christian Democracy activists Uladzislau Barouski and Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk were detained by the police when handing out election boycott leaflets, BCD regional coordinator Zmicier Shurkhai who witnessed the detention told Euroradio. Police agents were coordinated by a plainclothes man, according to Shurkhai.
Andrus Sharenda has been released from police custody. On Friday evening, the police refused to report the whereabouts of detained Uladzimir Katrych (United Civil Party), Uladzislau Barouski and Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk, the press service of Brest pro-democracy coalition "Spadchyna" reports.
