Most unusual means of smuggling cigarettes from Belarus (photo)

Radio-controlled rafts and divers with boxes of Belarusian cigarettes are mainstream trends at the moment.

Illegal immigrants entering the EU from the territories of its eastern neighbors is a relatively small problem. Over 90% of illegal immigrants come from the Mediterranean. However, the contraband of cheap cigarettes usually comes from Eastern European states including Belarus.

Euroradio has made a list of the most interesting means of smuggling with the help of the Border Committee and Belarusian and Lithuanian mass media.

"Hiding contraband under the seats of your car is trivial  as all cars have seats", - noted the press service of the Customs Committee.

Hiding cigarettes under a mattress is a very old means.

Hiding contraband on your body is an old way of smuggling. It is usually used in winter. Sometimes people use their children for it. A woman who attached packs of cigarettes to her little child's legs with the help of sticky tape was detained once.

Haystacks in the villages situated near the border may be full of cigarette packs.
