The music festival "Bandershtat" took place in the Ukrainian town Lutsk for the 6th time on August 3-5.
The event was traditionally dedicated to
the memory of Ukraine's national hero, leader of the Organization of Ukrainian
Nationalists Stepan Bandera and all the warriors of the Ukrainian Rebel Army.
Belarusian band Akute performed
at the festival as a special guest ("Tavarysz Mauzer", Vinsent and
Terrakod also participated in the festival in the previous years). Also,
several dozens Belarusians came to the festival. They were spotted because of
their white-red-white shirts and national flags. The organizers of the event,
in their turn, reminded about the political situation in Belarus from stage and
demanded to release leader of the "Young Front", political prisoner
Zmitser Dashkevich.
Apart from the musical stage, the participants of the festival could attend
meetings with the Ukrainian Rebel Army veterans and civil and cultural
activists, literature stage and a series of lectures on various topics,
ethnical fair trade, night cinema showing Ukrainian films on the rebel theme,
reconstruction of the fight between the Ukrainian Rebel Army and the NKVD, and
singing songs at the bonfire at night.
