Poland's Embassy to move from consular department building next week
However, the new premises will be temporary, until the Polish side constructs a new building for the Embassy.
Poland's Embassy will be located in Byaduli Street in Minsk, but it will be a temporary asylum, Poland's Ambassador Leszek Czerepka has told at the press-conference:
"Since Monday, the Embassy's legal address will be Byaduli Street, 11.
You know, we had to work in the building of the consular department in
Krapotkin Street for several months - the consular department stays there.
Until we construct a new building for the Embassy in Minsk. We prepare
carefully for this process and it will take no less than 4 years".
The Polish Embassy was located in a building in Rumyantsau Street for many
years. However, the Polish side got a warning back in 2011 that the rental
agreement would not be renewed. The Embassy staff had to seek asylum in the
consular department.
Nevertheless, the staff of the department managed to give 294 thousand visas to Belarusians in 10 months this year. The Ambassador thinks that this number will reach 350 thousand by the end of the year. Besides, last year Belarusians got 300 thousand Polish Shengen visas.
