Sannikau unfound in both KGB prison and "Valadarka"

Iryna Khalip went to the KGB detention center in the morning on May 18 in order to obtain permit for a meeting with her husband. She was refused in that. The detention center's employees said Andrej Sannikau wasn't there. They also refused to accept the parcel brought by Andrej Sannikau's mother Ala Sannikava due to the same season. 

The employees of the pre-trial detention center No. 1 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (the so-called "Valadarka") also claimed that Andrej Sannikau was not in their custody. The political prisoner's whereabouts are unknown at the moment.

The day before, on May 17, Iryna Khalip informed that she had paid a visit to the Partyzanski district court of Minsk together with Ala Sannikava, and applied for a meeting with her husband. The court provided her with a corresponding permit on the spot.

Let us remind you, the journalist was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment with arrest of judgment for 2 years. Her husband was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment in a reinforced-security colony.
