Russia does not confirm release of Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko
The defence will appeal the prolongation of the pilot’s arrest on Friday, February 13.
Russia has not decided whether to release Nadezhda Savchenko, her lawyer Ilya Novikov said. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian pilot has been on a hunger strike for 62 days in the detention centre Lefortovo.
The agreement to release the Ukrainian pilot was reached at the summit in Minsk, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
The defense will try to appeal the prolongation of Savchenko’s arrest on Friday, February 13, BBC quotes Novikov. The court decided to prolong her arrest until May 13 on February 10. “We will keep working as if there has not been any Minsk memorandum,” the lawyer noted.
The pilot’s case will only end in court, her second lawyer Marc Feigin thinks.
