Russia wants to turn Crimea into local Las Vegas
The Russian government seeks to create a gambling area with numerous casinos and hotels in Crimea, censor.net.ua reports quoting Bloomberg.
The idea was discussed at a governmental meeting on March 21, journalists say. Several Russian ministers were entrusted with developing a plan and a budget for the gambling area by April 15.
A special economic zone may be created in Crimea, Russian PM Dmitrii Medvedev announced at the beginning of the week. The preferences may affect the gambling business as well, analysts reckon.
