Serbia ready to deploy troops in Kosovo

Serbia is prepared to resort to tough measures, if the West moves to recognize the independence of Kosovo. The measures could include deployment of Serbian troops and economic blockade, Serbian Commisioner for Kosovo Affairs Dusan Prokorovic said in a statement, reports Ekho Moskvy radio station.  However, Serbian foreign ministry officially said that no military action would be used against Kosovo, even if the declaration of independence by Kosovo would become a security issue in the Balkans.

The final decision on the status of Kosovo is expected on December 10.
