Police detain foreign currency dealers in Minsk
Police in Minsk detain two people in Prytycki Street and two more at the Expobel shopping center for illegal foreign currency transactions.
The Minsk police have detained speculators in foreign currency, interfax.by reports. Two Minskers aged 31 and 25 were detained in Prytycki Street. Br19.6 million and $950 were confiscated from them.
Two more Minskers, aged 52 and 16, were detained at the shopping centre Expobel. Br10.8 million and $350 were confiscated.
A 30% foreign currency purchase fee was introduced in Belarus on December 20. Many currency exchange offices still lack foreign currency.
