Shoigu promises to respond to NATO’s reinforcement near Belarusian border
Russia will have to take defensive measures in response to NATO’s reinforcement near the borders of the Union State, Russian Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu said in Minsk on November 2. A joint session of the Belarusian and Russian Ministries of Defence was held in Belarus on that day.
"The USA and other NATO member states are increasing their attacking potential and are developing their military infrastructure near the borders of the Union State They keep imposing their will on other states by means of economic and military dictate and military force. This is an open information war,” interfax.by quotes Shoigu.
The Russian Minister mentioned ‘the high level of bilateral cooperation in the main issues of the global and regional policy’ between Belarus and Russia. A lot of attention is being paid to the provision of military units of the Western neighbourhood with modern military equipment and machines, the Minister said. Manoeuvres and military training are regularly organized.
The military cooperation of Russia and Belarus is actively developing, Shoigu thinks.
