Surrounded separatists want negotiations in Sloviansk
The Ukrainian Army began an active stage of the anti-terrorist operation in East Ukraine on Friday.
Surrounded separatists have asked the authorities for negotiations in Sloviansk, news.liga.net reports referring to Ukrainian Channel 5. Negotiations with militants may only be possible if they lay down arms, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence claimed. The Army has also demanded that those who killed Ukrainian soldiers surrendered and released all the seized buildings in Sloviansk.
The anti-terrorist operation will be resumed today, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov announced earlier.
