Svetlana Alexievich ready to donate $5K to Ales Adamovich museum

Nobel Literature Prize laureate Svetlana Alexievich is prepared to donate $5000 to open a museum of famous Belarusian writer and public figure Ales Adamovich (1927 — 1994) in the village of Hrusha in Babrujsk district. Alexievich made this statement on Saturday in Mahilou during the public discussion on fundraising efforts for the museum. Local officials and MPs also attended the discussion. In a commentary to Radio Svaboda the Nobel laureate promised to wire the mony to a charitable account by November 23.

"Ales Adamovich is Belarusian Vaclav Havel. His name is worth commemorating. I support the idea of museum and will participate in this," said the writer.
