Svyatlana Alieksiyevich becomes an Officer

The award was handed to Alieksiyevich by the French Ambassador to Belarus Dominique Gazyui on October 21 in Minsk. 

"The French public learned about you in 1991 after the book Zinc Boys was published in PAris. Your stories about the horrors of the long Afghan war shook faith in the heroism of the Soviet army, you became to some extent an anthropologist of the Soviet Union. Your books that appeared later in the framework of the literary series Voices from Utopia, unreleased votes of millions of Soviet men and women, secured for you the title of one of the most talented writers in the post-Soviet space,"  BelaPAN quoted the words of Gazyui.
