The program coordinator of the the Swedish NGO - Fojo Media Institute, Olga Vallée, who arrived in Belarus at the invitation of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, was not allowed into the country. She planned to meet with young journalists in Minsk.
On January 25, at the Minsk National Airport, the border guards told the journalist that she could not enter Belarus. The reason is that Vallée is included in the list of persons banned from entering the Russian Federation. Belarus apparently has a common 'black list' with Russia, so foreigners who are denied entry to Russia cannot come to Belarus either.
This is not the first time that foreigners who are on the Russian “black list” are not allowed into Belarus.
Olga Valleea had previously travelled to Belarus on numerous occassions for the past 15 years without a problem.
