Minsk, Moscow to sign visa deal by year end - Belarus envoy in Russia

The work on mutual recognition of visas for Russia and Belarus is in its final stage, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Uladzimir Syamashka said on June 21. Both sides are completing the required domestic procedures and checking all the nuances of what he described as the EU's Schengen Zone agreement-like deal.

"The work on the interstate visa recognition agreement started in 2015 and is in its final stage now. […] We are expecting the both sides to finish working on this essential document by the end of the year,” Syamashka said.
