Tennis: Azaranka ranked 2nd in WTA rating
The updated WTA rating has been published on Monday, June 10.
Victoria Azaranka has 9625 points, American Serena Williams - 13615 points. As for the Champions' Race, the Belarusian stays on place #3.
Azaranka managed to rise by one point due to the defeat of Russia's Maria Sharapova in Rolland Garros final. Sharapova failed to defend her points (she won the tournament last year), while Azaranka gained more points as she came one step further and reached the semi-finals.
The Belarusian tennis player kept the title of the World #1 for the whole 2012, but a series of this year's defeats threw her back to the 3rd place. Now she is getting her lost positions back.
