Terms for Eurasian Fund loan for Belarus agreed
The conditions under which Belarus may be issued a new loan from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development are almost agreed on. This was announced on October 29 at a press conference in Moscow by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Dmitry Pankin.
"We have discussed the allocation of the new loan to Belarus from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. We almost agreed on a matrix of measures. It reflects the issues of reducing subsidies on utility tariffs, the volume of money supply, the credit stimulation of the economy," he said.
Pankin said that the issue of loan allocation to Belarus will be considered at the next meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development.
Belarus filed a loan request to the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development in March this year. Initially, the Belarusian side requested a loan of $3 billion, but in August the leadership of the National Bank of Belarus said that it is a loan of 2 to 3 billion dollars.
