Three new governors introduced in Belarus (photo, video)
The heads of the regional executives committees have changed in Brest, Vitsebsk and Mahilyou Provinces recently.
The new heads of the local executive committees were introduced in Brest, Vitsebsk and Mahilypou. Regional councils of deputies gathered yesterday (although it was a day off) and approved the candidacies of the new ‘governors’.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka appointed Uladzimir Damneuski (ex-assistant to the President in Hrodna Province) head of Mahilyou Province Executive Committee. His predecessor Pyotr Rudnik was appointed head of Mahilyouhimvalakno.
Anatol Lis (ex-assistant to the President in Homel Province) has become head of Brest Province Executive Committee. Kanstantsin Sumar has ruled the province for over 10 years. He is likely to retire as he is already 65 years old.
Mikalai Sharstsnyou has become head of Vitsebsk Province Executive Committee. He used to be the President’s assistant in Vistebsk Province. His predecessor Alyaksandr Kosinets has headed the President’s Administration.
All the new governors have higher agricultural education, ONT reports.
