Top-ranked Minsk official arrested
Prosecutor General' Office started a criminal case against Henadz Pasevin, head of the Soviet district administration.
Henadz Pasevin is suspected of having committed the crimes prescribed by Part 3 Article 424 (abuse of power or official authorizations) and Part 2 Article 427 (forgery by an official) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, informs the press-center of the Prosecutor General's Office.
It has been confirmed that he, in 2011, being the Director of the "Strommash" JSC, ordered his subordinates to compile fake documentation on the operations with the production, with an aim to create the appearance of successful functioning of the company. As a result there occurred the material loss in the form of the excess salary, bonuses, VAT for the sum of more than Br 48 million.
Apart from that, Pasevin, being the head of the Soviet district administration of Minsk, committed a road accident in the official car in the beginning of 2013. As a result, the car was damaged. The expenses for repair of the car made more than Br 14 million. The company paid for everything.
The criminal case has already been passed to the Investigatory Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office has taken it under supervision.
