Translation of Maxim Znak's book wins English PEN Award

Maxim Znak's translation of "Zekameron" has won the English PEN Translates Award.
"Zekameron is a collection of short stories about life in prison. Political prisoner Maxim Znak wrote them while behind bars. Jim and Ella Dingley translated the text.
This year's prize for the best translation into English went to 15 books from 14 countries. They include novels, short story collections, crime novels, poetry and graphic novels.
A closed court sentenced maxim Znak to 10 years in a penal colony. It was reported that the political prisoner had already written three books in prison.
