Ukraine crisis negotiations to be held in ‘Norman format’
The exchange of captives and removal of military equipment from the line of battles will be the main topics on the agenda.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President François Hollande had a phone conversation on December 16. They discussed the situation in Ukraine and agreed to continue phone contacts ‘in the Norman format’ in the future. The leaders of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany were also present at the last meeting in Normandy.
The exchange of captives and removal of military equipment from the line of battles were the main topics on the agenda, BBC reports.
The importance of the next contact group’s meeting and of the realisation of Minsk agreements was also mentioned.
