Ukraine's MPs appoint interim president
285 out of 359 members of Ukraine's parliament voted to appoint Oleksandr Turchynov as the country's interim president.
The interim president's post is taken over by the chairman of the parliament - Verkhovna Rada, UNIAN news agency reports.
On February 22, Ukraine's parliament impeached Victor Yanukovich and set the early presidential election for May 25, 2014. Yanukovich said he did not recognize the parliament's decisions.
The whereabouts of Victor Yanukovich are yet to be known.
