Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sharoiko was arrested in Minsk on 25 October by KGB agents, the journalist's colleague Sergiy Tomilenko wrote on Facebook.
"On the same day, the flat where Pavel lives with his family - his wife Elena and the daughter - was searched," he added.
Sharoiko reportedly has access only to a state lawyer. He can communicate with his family only via letters. His wife received the first letter by post only one and a half weeks after the arrest.
Ukraine's National Union of Journalists has called on Belarusian authorities to release their colleague immediately.
Euroradio reported earlier that unofficial reports suggest that the Radio of Ukraine correspondent is accused of espionage. Previously, Sharoika was the chief of UNIAN Ukrainian news agency bureau in Minsk.
