Ukraine's Interior: We tried to detain Sashko Bily but he fired back
All the previous versions of Sachko Bily’s murder were false, as the police in Ukraine admits it was a special operation.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Yevdokimov announced it at a press conference in Kiev in the morning.
Coordinator of the Right Sector in Western Ukraine Alexander Muzhychko also known as Sashko Bily was killed near Rivne last night. There were reports about a gangland-style shoot-out and a group of armed people that had captured him. Some sources also mentioned a Russian trace in the case.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Yevdokimov reminded that criminal cases for malicious hooliganism and resistance to the police had been started against Muzychko on March 8, Ukrainian National News reports. He was announced wanted on March 12.
A special operation was conducted on March 25. The Main Department for the Prevention of Organized Crime and the special group Sokol took part in it. They found Sashko Bily in a café near Rovno and decided to detain him there. The coordinator of the Right Sector started shooting at the riot policemen, Vladimir Yevdokimov said. He wounded a Sokol member (the bullets hit him in the helmet and shoulder strap). Then the policeman started shooting at his legs. Wounded Sashko Bily was firing back even when policemen were trying to pinion him. The deputy Minister did not explain why Sashko Bily had been shot in the heart. Muzychko had died of the wounds before the ambulance arrived.
Three members of the Right Sector have been delivered to Kiev for an interrogation. A special group has been created to investigate the activities of ‘the gang’.
