Ukrainian troops capture separatists’ ‘Minister of Defence’
The Ukrainian authorities have put Mariupol under control.
Militants had been occupying the city council building and barricading streets until last night. However, the Ukrainian authorities’ anti-terrorist operation was successful. One militant was killed and two were captured. One of the captured militants called himself ‘the Minister of Defence’ of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic. He is suspected of the recent poisoning of a few Ukrainian soldiers.
The Right Sector or ‘men in black’ attacked them, separatists claimed. Members of the MIA special battalion Azov and the Ministry of Defence light armoured brigade #72 prove their mettle during the operation, Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov told censor.net.ua.
