Ukrainians vote in early parliamentary elections
Ukraine is today holding an early election to the country's parliament. Nearly 37 million citizens are on the election commission's lists. 9000 out of them are expected to vote in Belarus.
The Ukrainian nationals in Belarus can vote at two polling stations: at the Ukrainian Embassy in Minsk and at the Ukrainian Consulate in Brest. They are open from 7 a.m to 10 p.m.
Rivals from 20 political parties and blocs will seek victory for 450 parliament seats. Candidates are required to gain at least 3 percent of votes to get through on condition that 50 percent of the registered citizens cast their ballots. Elections in Ukraine are based on the proportional system.
Exit-poll returns will be voiced right after the closure of the polling stations. Official results will be announced by the Central Election Commission not later than October 15, according to the Ukrainian laws.
