US explains when Russia sanctions may be lifted
The last part of the sanctions imposed on Russia will be lifted if Moscow sticks to the ceasefire agreements reached in Minsk.
Deputy spokesperson for the US Department of State Marie Harf: "We need to make sure that Minsk agreement and the 12-step ceasefire plan are observed.” Moscow’s actions aimed at aggravating the situation in Ukraine will result in new sanctions, she said.
The EU and USA imposed new sanctions on Russia on September 12. Oil, defence and financial sectors of the Russian economy were affected by them.
Moocow promised to react to these actions accordingly. Restrictions may be imposed on the import of oil and machine building products, head of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development Aleksei Ulyukayev said.
