Venezuelan President asks Parliament for special powers
Nicolás Maduro has asked the National Assembly for special powers to fight corruption and economic sabotage.
If the authorities do not manage to solve the problems, “there will be no socialism in the country”, BBC quotes Maduro.
His adherents will vote pro, opposition leader Henrique Capriles claimed. Maduro has not managed to meet Venezuelans’ expectations over five months.
Sugar, flour and toilet paper are in very short supply in Venezuela now.
