Victims of totalitarian regimes to be commemorated in Hrodna
The Memory Days to commemorate the victims of the totalitarian regimes in Belarus will take place from May 26 through May 29 in the western town of Hrodna. During the days, vigils will be served in the town's Catholic and Orthodox churches, while candles will be lit at the execution sites.
A round-table meeting titled "From Belarusization to Kurapaty" will take place on May 28 in Hrodna in the framework of Memory Year events in memory of the victims of political terror in this country. The Memory Days are organized by the local activists with the For Freedom movement. The local authorities refused to participate, according to Charter'97.
