Victoria Azarenka deafest Petra Kitova in Toronto
The Belarusian has made it to the third round.
Victoria Azarenka has defeated World No.4 Petra Kvitova at Toronto tournament (the prize fund is $2 million 513 thousand). The match took 1 hour and 28 minutes and ended after two sets — 6:2, 6:3, Pressball reports.
The Belarusian will play against Italian Sara Errani in the third round of the tournament.
Our compatriot Volha Havarstova has not managed to make it to the third round. The Belarusian was defeated by World No.6 Ana Ivanovic of Serbia — 4:6, 6:7 (4:7).
The Canadian tournament will end on August 16. It will be a stage in the preparation for the final Gland Slam series tournament of the year – the U.S. Open that will be held in New York on August 31 – September 13.
