Tennis: Victoria Azarenka down to World No 25
The WTA today released the updated rankings.
The Belarusian tennis player has gone down by one more position. She was the World No. 24 a week ago. She has only 1813 points now. Azarenka made it to the U.S. Open quarters not long ago. However, she was defeated by Russian Yekaterina Makarova.
The top-3 has not changed: American Serena Williams (9430 points), Romanian Simona Halep (6160) and Czech Republic's Petra Kvitová (5926).
Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich has gone up from the 97 to 93rd position with 612 points.
A new tournament is starting today in Tokyo. The prize fund is $1 million. Victoria Azarenka will compete with Japanese Kimiko Date-Krumm, World No. 86, in the first round.
