VR member to stand trial in Moscow
He was beaten and intimidated after the arrest, Aleksei Goncharenko said.
Ukrainian people’s deputy Aleksei Goncharenko detained in Moscow has been let off. He is accused of an administrative violation – disobedience to the police, UNIAN reports. He will stand trial in Moscow on Monday, March 2. He may be fined for 1000 Russian roubles or jailed for 15 days.
Goncharenko was detained at the action in memory of Boris Nemtsov. He says that he did not disobey the police. The VR member claims that he was beaten after the detention. He asked to call a doctor but policemen did not do it.
They told him that he would never be released and that he man he was stalking to had a sore finger due to shooting a lot, Goncharenko said.
The police also asked Goncharenko about the events of May 2 in Odessa and his connection to them.
According to official police reports, over 50 people were detained at the march in memory of Nemtsov on March 1. All of them disturbed the public peace, the police claimed.
