Women’s biathlon sprint in Sochi: No medals for Belarus
Our national team’s hope Darya Domracheva came 9th.
Domracheva started as number 22 and was slower than usual from the very beginning. She missed once at the first shooting line and was 37.4 seconds behind the leader. She did not miss at the second shooting line but her speed was not the best anyway. She finished second at first but was left behind by the other participants of the sprint who started after her.
Nadzeya Skardzina did not miss but was not quick enough and came 17th. Anastasiya Dubarezava came 34th and Lyudmila Kalinchyk – 37th.
Slovak biathlete Anastasiya Kuzmina won the sprint followed by Russian Olga Viluhina and Ukrainian Vita Semerenko.
The women’s pursuit race will be held on Tuesday, February 11. Belarusians still have a good chance to win there.
