Yanokovcih promises not to introduce emergency situation in Ukraine
Ukrainian Present Victor Yanukovich and President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso have discussed the situation by phone.
"President Yanukovich said that he was not planning to introduce an emergency situation in Ukraine,” EC representative Olivier Bailly said.
Barroso was “deeply worried about the situation and information about attacks on journalists and abductions,” UNIAN reports.
A number of members of the Verkhova Rada tried collecting signatures in order to conduct another meeting to introduce an emergency situation in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government refused to sign an association agreement with the European Union before Vilnius summit in November 2013. European integration adherents started protesting. Maidain Nezalezhnosti in Kiev became the centre of this resistance. The protests became radical a few days ago. Hundreds of people were injured.
