Yermakovich says can't blame BATE players for defeat

BATE lost to Sharktar Donetsk in the 4th round of the Champions League group stage – 0:5. The Barysau team had to play the second period short-handed as Hagush had been shown a red card. BATE was also defeated by Shakhtar in the previous match – 0:7.

The team is really behind Shakhtar players, BATE chief manager Alyaksandr Yermakovich admitted after the match.

"We wanted to be defensive and stuck to the plan,” Pressball quotes Yermakovich. “We missed all goals in quick attacks in the first match and in position attacks in this match. Unfortunately, it is very hard to compete with such a strong team. And we were short-handed. The guys tried doing their best. I cannot blame them.”

The Barysau team will play Porto on November 25. They lost to the team in an out match earlier – 0:6. Yermakovich has promised that the team will struggle for points but added that the players did their best in the match against Shakhtar.  However, it has brought no result.
