Zbigniew Brzezinski on Ukraine: Even Belarus wants to be closer to West
Sooner rather than later, Ukraine will be truly a part of democratic Europe.
Former United States National Security Advisor to President Zbigniew Brzezinski told it to The Financial Times.
“Russia will follow Ukraine unless it isolates itself and becomes a semi-stagnant imperialistic relic. It is striking that even in neighbouring Belarus, ruled by the authoritarian Lukashenka regime, a similar western orientation is beginning to surface,” he wrote in his article.
Mass protest actions started in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities after the Ukrainian government had postponed the association agreement with Europe on November 21. Protesters demand that the government should resign.
