14.5 thousand WWII veterans live in Belarus
As of January 1, 2016, 14.5 thousand WWII veterans live in Belarus, BELTA refers to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. 3.3 thousand veterans died in 2015 and 4.3 thousands – in 2014.
There are two Heroes of the Soviet Union who received the order during the Great Patriotic War in Minsk – Vasil Michuryn and Ivan Kustou.
