Amnesty: Cold January 2011
The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs has summed up the results of the last amnesty that finished on January 7.
According to the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 17.348 people in prisons and 5.041 – in open correctional institutions could be amnestied.
As a result, 3.300 people were released and 8.673 prisoners had their sentenced shortened by one year.
