Baumgertner nears arrest term end
Uralkali CEO's two-month arrest term will expire on October 26.
The investigators will have to decide whether the term should be prolonged or not.
Neither the Belarusian police, nor Vladislav Baumgertner’s lawyers are commenting on the situation. According to the lawyers, their client asked them not to give any information to mass media. The Uralkali CEO did not ask for additional meetings with diplomats, the Russian Embassy told Radio Liberty.
Baumgernter was detained in Minsk on August 26. The Belarusian Investigation Committee accused him of power abuse. Baumgertner was put under house arrest and left KGB prison on September 25.
The Belarusian and Russian Presidents may discuss the Uralkali situation and the detention of Baumgertner in Minsk.
