Belarusian hacker stole Br400 million from cell phone users
A 26-year-old man used an Internet resource that offered quick monetization of Internet traffic for it.
He created a few websites that helped him steal money at the beginning of 2011. One of them still exists and offers to buy furniture. The programmer sent messages to short phone numbers. Then he used tricks that made phone owners send replies to his messages which resulted in losing money.
The young man stole over Br440 million in 20 months, Yezhednevnik reports. A criminal case for “stealing money by using computer equipment in an organized grouping” has been started. The suspect is facing 15 years of imprisonment and property confiscation.
